Ideas for natural detoxes
Ideas for natural detoxes
Anyone ever try any natural detoxes? If so, which ones have you found to be useful.
I am looking to cleanse my body and she'd some of this horrid water weight.
Any input would be much appreciated

Your body naturally detoxes itself - that's what the liver and kidneys do.
Drink a lot of water, healthy food, and get a little exercise every day. Sleep eight hours. Your body knows what to do.
Alcohol is horrible for water retention, weight gain, and poor liver function - so the best thing you can do is stop drinking, and give it a week.

Your body has it's own mechanism to cleanse itself via the liver, kidneys and the rest of the digestive system. Eating healthy, unprocessed foods and drinking lots of water can reduce the amount of toxins that go in ( and hence less for your body to process and flush out ) but there is no "diet" that can detox your body...it has to do it on it's own. Some people do develop deficiencies in certain vitamins and minerals due to malnutrition when drinking heavily, but only doctor can check for that.

In early recovery, it's natural to want to find a way to undo the damage as soon as possible. But as Bim notes, while there's no such thing as a natural detox, we can do our bodies great good by adapting healthy habits.
For many, including me, it's hard to look at our bodies and see what alcohol has done. I strongly recommend the Mayo Clinic Diet. I've been using that approach and am down four sizes!
Hang in there!
