Went to first meeting...wasn't too bad. I'm not religious so the God stuff might take some time but being around people going through or have gone through similar situations felt good

Congrats on the first meeting. I was a bit turned off by the god talk at first too. Power greater than yourself...you don't have to be religious, just have faith in something. Universal powers, the group itself...

If you commit to going to AA and show that you want to get help, your brother and his kids most likely will be more forgiving. I know that my parents were more forgiving when I showed them that I wanted to get better.

Well gotta get up and moving...been feeling unmotivated/depressed so basically have stayed on couch sleeping and watching tv. Work 12-10 today so no AA meeting tonight, but do plan on going to one tomorrow.
