Hello

Trying again tomorrow. I have a liver scan on the 7 th, totally crapping myself. Oh we'll, I've done it to myself I guess. Just don't understand why this has to be so damn hard. I want to quit without a doubt.

It's scary to face something like that. Try to be optimistic and know for sure that the best you can do is to take care of yourself today.

I didn't want to quit, but I did. And yes, it is hard.
Too many times we wait until we get the 'bad news' or something happens.

Something happened in my case. Just quit for good. That's what I did.

Thanks Anna. I really believe I'm drinking more out of worry. It's crazy! I have done better the times I've been active on this site. Food for thought.

Thanks LBrain. If I get ok news it will be a miracle. I'm so ill so much of the time. I want to quit for good regardless. Let's pray tomorrow is the day I finally do this!

What is stopping you from quitting today?
I used to always promise myself that I would get sober "tomorrow". I eventually came to the realization that if I continued to promise myself to get sober "tomorrow", I would never get sober.

I totally get that. Alcohol was your "go to" thing when you were stressed. Try doing something else to calm yourself?

Day 2 nearly over. Focussing on a healthy lowish carb diet. Lots of fresh veg. Ordered some vitamins and good antioxidents for fatigue as well as some herbs to cleanse the liver. Super bloated today. drinking lots of water. Anyone here used Swedish Bitters? If so, any thoughts?

Never used them - my doctor said the liver is great at detoxing itself - drink plenty of water and don't overwork it by adding supplements.

I still think that was great advice

Thanks Dee and LBrain re the supplement advice. I've been taking Selenium for the past few days, think I'll stick with that but hold off on the other stuff. It's unfortunate because I ordered some antioxidents that are very good for fatigue as I suffer very badly from it. Day 3 is nearly over, roll on day 4!
