Super glad to hear of the proverbial Happy Ending!
Both a Pro Dog Trainer Pal and a Fella here in W. Colorado have told me of this technique to locate a lost Dog.
Put their Bed or Blanket where they last were with you. They will return to that spot, but in the morning. That's when you have to go attempt to find them at that spot. Dogs will then circle out to find their Owner as the morning goes on, but often will return to the Scent on their Bedding.
In one Case told to me my this Dog Trainer, the Pooch was lost for ~30 days at >9,000' in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. It finally turned up in good condition.
See below the view out our 4' x 7' Kitchen Window for a sense of Topography. A Local drove up and asked my permission to use Binoculars to search for his lost Dog from our Mesa-top; last seen down by the deep River Gorge in shadow in this Pic. I told him of this Bedding trick. He found his Dog a few days later at the Bedding he set down by the River there.

She is adorable and yes, it s a beautiful scenery but definitely not a place to lose a dog.
I always use postimage to upload picts. They allow hotlinking and you don't even have to register, sign up or god knows only what other nonsense.
