Well written post Weas, certainly food for thought. And as others have said it's dead-on accurate. In my case I picked up the habit of drinking heavily on Sundays eventually as well and Mondays were absolutely awful. Pure survival tactics were needed to even make it to the office - the thought of actually doing work once I arrived never crossed my mind. Like you, I was also out the office door by 3-4pm on Thursdays and Fridays and at the bar early. I'd go by myself and hammer down some beers and vodka to get a jump on my co-workers who would arrive later.
