Glad you are going to a meeting Phoenix. I'd love to have the "high" that I used to initially get from Alcohol too, but our addiction would have us forget the "low" that comes soon after and lasts much longer than the fleeting high feeling.

Is there someone you can call in the meantime? It helps to talk, but also it helps to think it through. Give yourself time to sit with that uncomfortable craving until it subsides. Don't give in! Explore why you want to feel high. How are you currently feeling?

You might quit that forum if it is triggering urges.

Hi Phoenix, hang in there and go to the meeting early. Ditch the other forum. Drinking and drugging for us IS NOT FUN. It can kill us. I heard Amy Winehouse Rehab on the radio this morning. Great song. But she's dead. It's not fun.

I'd also recommend getting a cup of decaf before the meeting. I only drink decaf. Hang in there. Sending positive thoughts your way.

Good job for reaching out! Stay strong, and as others said, ditch the forum that triggers you! You're doing amazing

you can look at the other side of that kind of forum (am thinking on one in particular) if you have the stomach for it; the memorials for all the dead members.
Some die very publicly - via webcam and chat.
It's pretty horrific to see the reality of the mentality that goes on there.

Especially from the ones that want to make sure everyone knows "see, I told ya I was hardcore."

Please stay away from those forums. It's just a bad, sad place to be, long-term OR short-term.

Definitely don't go to that forum. If you have to, have your husband block it from your home.

Went to the meeting 2 hours before it started because i read the wrong things witch said the meeting starts at 6pm i didnt start until 8pm

The meeting was so good tonight we where all laughing it was good
not going to get high today and not drinking
