I did it!
I did it!
Today was day 3 for me since I drank last. Tonight was my first "outing" without drinking - I went to a sports match with my brother in law, and I would have definitely normally overdone it with the drinking. This time, however, I resisted the urge to buy a beer and made it through the whole night completely sober.
I'm really proud of myself, and actually found that I enjoyed the game a lot more than the last that I went to one (where I got completely drunk and couldn't even recall the 2nd half of the game). This time I could actually follow what was going on, and had a really great time. It feels good to associate a good time with not drinking for a change.
After the game we went out for some food where I ordered club soda (would have normally ordered beer), and it felt refreshing to actually sit with a friend and have a conversation that wasn't alcohol induced.
Just wanted to share. Thank you everyone for helping me achieve and continue my sobriety!

Good C!!! You are so right when you said you enjoyed the game. I always got so drunk that didn't remember or started an argument and ruined the night. I really enjoy being sobER be wise I am always present!!!

Congratulations!
This staying sober does get a bit easier each day we don’t drink one day at a time in a row.
We can have “bad” days but we don’t need to drink because our days will get and be better without drinking.
BE WELL
