50 days update

Hi everyone hope you all well, reached 50 days and here is my update. A few weeks ago was feeling good but for last few days feel terrible, nauseous, mild headaches, sleeping problems, weird thoughts, general malaise etc. went to Doc and he gave me Campral to help with craving so started them yesterday and will see how I get on, apparently it takes a week or so to feel any benefit from them. I know its the PAWS thing but just want it to go away, any thoughts on alleviating this pain. thanks and have a nice day.

Good thread! For me, removing the alcohol has been much like a major dietary change and my body is still in transition. Right now more exercise, water and doc visits are helping. I don't expect to feel like I did in my 30's but wherever this leads, I'm going there w/out alcohol.

Well done on 50 days!!

For me early on it seemed I was very sensitive to how I felt every moment, almost like - what's going to happen now, is this how I should feel ?!??!? Am I better today or worse......I checked my Fly-o-meter often

Of course this is normal as the poison gets out of our system slowly - and it is indeed poison.

As more days turned into a few months I became less focused on any one day and simply decided regardless of how I felt it was my normal in recovery and I would keep going.

Wise to be under doctors care, I had a checkup early on that identified some minor issues - cholesterol high for example.

Glad you're here with us, can't wait for your two month report!!!

Thanks Flynbuy, feel exactly like that, good to hear that's its normal. I am noticing in my work that I am becoming more focused and diligent and it is less of a strain than previously, so must be heading in the right direction... actually very excited at the prospect of getting this poison totally out of my system for ever as I have yet so many things to explore with my young family and in a new business venture when I finish in 6 months in Saudi.
I still know I have many challenges ahead of me and will have to be on my guard for the demon drink's sneaky attacks. Thank you SR and Good Luck everyone.
