Just posting to say that I like your mindset. I think of sobriety the same way - something valuable I've earned that needs protection.

I feel like an enormous weight has been lifted off my shoulders. It's not my responsibility anymore to worry if she is drunk or safe. I'm growing up for the first time in my life.
