Day three
Hi All, I made my introductory post yesterday and by accident in the middle of someone else’s thread.
It’s 8:30pm here on Sunday and going to bed early again. Last drink was last Thursday night. This is as long as I’ve gone in years. Slept better last night than the night before (where I really didn’t sleep at all). Back to work tomorrow. Having a 15 beer a day habit, I was prepared to feel worse. I’m just really feeling exhausted. Onward and upwards...

Glad to hear it, tomli! I'm also on day 3 with a 15+ beer a day habit, and I can honestly say I'm sleeping like a baby the last two nights. A little anxious waiting to find out how much damage I've done to my family life, but feeling good in my sobriety this time (again).

Thanks so much for the support and encouragement everyone. It’s day five and I’m doing good.
Last night, I went out and was in a situation that ALWAYS was a drinking situation for me and I didn’t give in. I felt it was a tough test that I passed with flying colors. It’s given me confidence moving forward.
I’m feeling a little better and sleeping a little better. Still not 100% on either front, but I see gradual improvement. My wife has commented that I’m not snoring like I did; that I’m looking better, and I’ve noticed that the coating on my tongue is going away.
Thanks again, everyone.

I'm glad you got through it tomli - don't feel like you need to test your sobriety tho.
I would always be road testing my recovery,. trying to live my old life but as a non drinker.
Often it wasn't the first time in a situation that tripped me up, it was the third or fourth time when maybe I let down my guard a little or got overconfident.....
It's ok not to put yourself in those situations for a while.
I made major changes to my life and I'm glad I did...I think that's the reason I'm still sober all these years later
