Into day 2
Into day 2
So finally managed to do a day. Meant it to be Sunday but at least I stopped yesterday. Spent some time after the last post trying to look my drinking habits, the triggers, apart from trying to get relief from the hangover. Almost tried to watch me drinking as if I was a bystander, even stood in-front of the mirror with a bottle, perhaps to shock myself, physically see what I was doing. Anyway its day 2.
Hi Grok
all those things can be useful...but the bottom line is pretty much not buying any more alcohol or having any in the house.
You have to resolve to deal with your cravings and stop reacting to them in the same old ways. It's uncomfortable sure but every time you face your craving and stay sober anyway, you'll find it a little easier
Do you have any other support apart from SR?

You can do this Grok. many people on these threads say this so i'll say it to you... "if I can do this, so can you". I really mean that. Quitting this addiction is the hardest thing i've ever had to do. It wears on you physically, mentally and emotionally. I've had plenty of day 1's, day 2's and so on.
It does get better, though... much better. You just have to want a better life for yourself and those around you. It's within your control and you are strong enough to make it happen. Do what ever it takes for you to NOT DRINK. When your AV starts screaming, divert your attention, get on SR, go for a walk... anything to let the craving wave pass.
Well done on day 2. You are on your way to a better life!
