My cat left one day and didn't come back. Torrential rains for 2 weeks. Then I heard a tapping on the door. Maxxx returned! 2 days later he wanted to go out again.....
Friend's cat left one night and didn't return. Friend was mortified. 2 months went by. Then he heard a tap on the door. Penny found her way home!
Life happens. We need to know how to deal without numbing ourselves.

Seriously, you're sobriety sounds a little shaky. 5 months is nice, but you need to build a firmer foundation so that when "life happens" you don't cave in and drink. The program of AA can help with that.
Two different guys I know have had serious crap happen to them in the past few months, and they both have stayed sober. One had an adult daughter commit suicide, the other was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
