New and trying
Hey guys I'm new on here and wanted to try give up alcohol. Ever since I was a teenager I have been addicted to one thing or another. I have managed to overcome most things however alcohol still haunts me. I cannot control how much I drink and when I am drunk become an aggressive person towards everyone. I'm afraid that I'm going to lose my dream job, my girlfriend and my house if I continue down the road I am going

Hi and welcome.
Your fears will happen if you’re an alcoholic and continue to drink.
The way it probably won’t happen is when you just stop drinking even if you’re a$$ falls of. Its that simple.
It’s suggested to read a lot of posts and if/when the desire hits post about it or go to AA meetings.
BE WELL
Hi proclub and welcome. Why don't you join us in the January thread?
Like you I can always find something to be addicted to - pills, booze, weed (when I was young) now going it without anything bad. If I have to I'l going to get addicted to yoga or something. I'd rather it not be nything (through therapy) but if it has to be something it's going to be something healthy.
You can do this! Leave it now before it damages your life - some if us haven't been that lucky.

Pleased to meet you proclub.
Alcohol changed my personality too. I never knew how things would go once it was in my system. There was no control, and I put myself in danger each time I drank. It was a relief to finally get free of it and rebuild my life. You can do this - we will help.

Thanks hevyn, I just can't stand myself after I drink with some of the things I have done or said. I am literally to scared to leave the house with anxiety for days. Even once I do venture out in public sometimes I feel I could just break down thinking about how much of a fool I was. I'm going to give it my best shot not drinking anymore because I really don't know how many more hangovers I can do! Thanks everyone for the big welcome it has definately made me feel comfortable talking to you all
