I really let the holidays get to me; and I let AV take over; I'm sitting here hungover and I don't want to feel like this anymore; I can't sleep so I turned to SR for help; I have decided to call into work sick tomorrow because I know I won't be fit by morning to do anyone much good as the last alcohol I drank was about 6 hours ago;

Thank for the reply; I want to live and I want to be useful and happy; I can't do any of these drinking; I read something earlier about AV being a liar, maybe I can use this as a tool to help me when AV is screaming at me

AVRT and Rational Recovery really helped me stay sober. AA helped me mend my life. I see no reason why to not use what you find useful from each one.

AA is great for the face to face support. Its good to meet up with others who understand us. It's not for everyone though.

Sometimes "relapsing" for me was an active choice. Ultimately there is no relief in drinking.
