Had an Aunt who died at 40 from it and her husband died at 38 from it a couple of years prior. What a horrible way to die. Pity for those left behind.

I just finished reading the article. Soberwolf posted it a bit earlier.

Frightening and heart-wrenching.

Which is why I'm getting my rear in gear and heading to a noon meeting. I know that for me personally, the hardest part is breaking the cycle and reaching out for support. I've got twenty four hours and a desire, I'll be Damned if I'm putting myself through another relapse.

If you’re lucky because most who relapse don’t get sober, this is serious shite!

BE WELL

That story is very sad. When things seem like they're at their worst, a story like this will make you realize they could be far worse.

That could have been any of us, y'all....it could have been me for sure.
I hope I never take my sobriety for granted.
My heart aches for her and her family.

Artfriend, I can tell you from personal experience that you do not want to die this way. It is slow and painful..and SLOW. You may linger for days, weeks, or months. My liver failed almost 8 months ago. I'm 33. It went through spontaneous recovery; we don't know why.
