With Christmas here I'm having to remind myself over and over that it's not all about ME this time around. I'm being prodded by the old urge to descend into buzzed oblivion so I can dimly wait out the rest of the year. However, I'm not going to give in. The people around me deserve to have a holiday without a drunken, chain smoking middle-aged man making stupid jokes and/or being hypersensitive about every little fault I find in those around me. That's who I am when I'm drunk.

So, I'm going to continue checking in here several times a day to read what other people are going through. Think of all the wonderful memories we can create for ourselves and others by being sober this holiday! That's what I'm focusing on. Happy holidays everyone!
