Good! I'm on day 3! I have 30 minutes left at work and then I want to hit the liquor store but I know I can't! The thought of alcohol never even entered my mind until an hour or two ago... But then I realized I have the entire weekend to myself and not a lot to do...

I used to drink the weekend away and Monday would hit me like a sack of bricks...

Congrats on 71 days!

How are you doing today?

I just got out of a meeting, feeling good. Day one without a ciggy-butt. Doing all that I can for my health today by staying clean. A lot of triggers and urges. Dealing with the feelings that have ruined my hopes.

That's right path2! Talk about it. Just don't do it! Its normal to think about something you've been doing every weekend (or whatever). Today is about change. Doing something different. Tell your disease to step aside. I'm doing me this weekend.

Thanks it means a lot! I want to go to the gym, pickup a library book, clean my car, maybe play some Destiny...

It's funny because I spent $60 on Destiny when it came out... But then I only played it once while I was drunk and forgot what even happened...

I eventually stopped playing it because I only played it when I was drinking. After a few drinks I couldn't really play and just ended up passing out forgetting what even happened..

I think this weekend I'll try to Actually play the game I bought!

Sorry for the double post but I just wanted to add that it's scary how much drinking takes from you... Money, resltionships, hobbies, carrers... All down the drain because of our drinking...

Take it by the hours if that's what it takes! I saw your post and I feel for ya! I'm only on day 3 myself!

Just try to find things to occupy yourself over the weekend.

And whatever you do... Don't drink!

Today I can deal with things without so much stress, anger, depression. Its all because I didn't use. When I was active and something ruined my hopes I would ruin everybody's day I didn't care if I had to lie, manipulate, hurt others. It didn't matter. Then feel like a POS and go use Had that king baby syndrome going on . Today I know there's another way. Feels good to be real !

I think you are ready my friend. I think you wouldn't be on my post if you didn't feel some kind of pain. Keep things simple. Don't pick up. If you feel like using talk about it ( and not to your buddy that's going to be like "dude what's one more night out"). You'll be surprised what you are really capable of once you get your head right. I got 71 days and my life has gotten so much better 100 fold.
