Gratefulness and transparence
Ever since I stopped hiding that my drinking was out of control, my life has been much simpler, my family and friends have offered support (from bringing me to my first AA meeting or keeping me on the phone until the beer stores close or even sending positive thoughts my way). I didn't know I had this before. A community. Thank you. Life is getting better. Hard work though.

That's awesome, Allthatjazz! I completely understand the respect the sentiment that there is a lot of heavy simplification that comes with recognizing oneself as in need of a life change. I sincerely wish you the very best in your continued work!
Great to meet you allthatjazz.
I agree - I felt so relieved once I came out with it. Everyone knew, even though I thought I was so clever at hiding the evidence that I was drinking all day. (There's only so much that mouthwash, eyedrops, & perfume can conceal ). Glad to have you aboard.
