fighting the desire today

Thanksgiving... I guess it's just from years of it always being a decadent holiday/party. My reason for staying sober today is my stepson is coming for dinner and I really want him to be comfortable here as he is a recovering addict. And last Christmas I made a total *** of myself in front of him while I was drunk. I really don't want him to have to see that again. I hope everyone has a great day, with no booze!

Happy Thanksgiving Paloverde!! That's great you're able to see the impact of your actions on your stepson.

This is my first sober Thanksgiving in over twenty years. That's so f'ing sad . . . .
