Getting there..
It's Saturday morning and I'm a bit hungover (disappointing I know)
I had a very busy week at work and had decided at lunch time yesterday that I was going to drink. So, I went to my dads house and had a dozen beers then went home to bed at about midnight. I'm slowly working towards sobriety and I will get there. I didn't realise the cravings are still quite intense, even though I'm a weekend binge drinker.
Sorry to disappoint guys, but I'm working on sobriety and I WILL reach it eventually!

I can only speak from experience, but I know I couldn't have got sober without some way to deal with cravings that I was pretty confident would work, and also I keep in mind at all times why I am doing it, plus spending most of my non- working life on here and going to AA for some face to face support.
What triggered you to drink ? Your reward for a busy week ?
Have to watch out for them triggers, my friend, they sneak up on you before you know it. Your AV will wait until you're weak, and then pounce.

There are lots of ways to get and stay sober. For me, what worked was seeing an addiction counselor once a week and coming here every day.
Whatever you find, work it like your life depends on it, cause it does!

I feel for you as a weekend binge drinker. I think it is easier to backslide. That little voice in your head telling you that you can handle it starts to act up. I've had a few 2 week sober moments, but the weekends were always bad.
