MS,Chilly, the sleep will get better with sober time. Happens sooner for some than it does for others. You've got to stay sober though. Each week got a little better for me but it took about 90 days before I really got 7 or 8 hours uninterrupted. I used to be on SR all hours of the night with an hour or two of sleep mixed in.
After years of falling to sleep drunk, our bodies have to relearn how to shut down. For me, lack of sleep sucked but was way better than being hung over every day until I had my next drink.
Your doc can help if it gets unbearable.
