I am offering my best wishes to you.
My first attempt to stop drinking was a bit of a double edge sword. It lasted 11.5 years, but following that one little glass of wine at a dinner party I went on a decade plus run that had my relapsing repeatedly. I kept thinking, so what, if I ever get REALLY SERIOUS this will be a day at the beach. Each run took me lower and lower.
Near 17 months ago now I attended an AA mtg. Not my first, but certainly the first one that I went to with an open mind. That led to an open heart soon after.
I can honestly say that by seriously working the program and posting on SR my sobriety is in a better place than ever before. Glad you will be doing the same.
