Welcome I managed 8 days last week then drank for 3. Now on day 2 again but feeling really positive. The support here is fantastic. Just remember to keep posting, especially if you get a wobble. I'm also reading rational recovery and finding that I can relate to it well. Good luck you can do this

Welcome. It was a long time coming for me. Swore I would quit every morning on my way to work just to end up hammered at the end of the day. I can relate about the picking fights with your partner. I didn't remember most of them. I actually started to write down some of the things that were said when we argued just to find out I couldn't read my drunken writing the next day. I knew I had to quit but didn't have the courage to do so. The thought of never drinking again terrified me. My tipping point was a five day stay in the hospital with a life threatening condition. Have not had a drink since. 80 days tomorrow. I don't think I had anything more than a few days sober since my teens. I am adjusting the best I can and trying to figure out who the sober me really is. My kids say they like the new cool dad.

Use all of the tools available to you. You can do this and were here to help.
