Might want to skip that beer-

Hope your detox is safe and successful- you WILL feel better a few days in with a clear head and a few days of sobriety- one day at a time, Mike. You can do it.

Be nice to yourself, you deserve this chance. It's great that you are taking it.

Glad you saw a doctor and got meds for detox, mje. You will need to learn how to deal with the cravings - this will be essential in the process of getting sober and your recovery. Please look around here on SR, there are plenty of great tips to handle drinking urges!

I hope you get some rest tonight and that tomorrow will be a genuine Day 1!

as long as you think that Mike, your addictions got you wrapped around its little finger.

I'm an alcoholic too.
I haven't had a drink for years.

not because I'm awesome or anything - I just work bloody hard.

If you can't stop letting your addiction lie to you and run the show, things are going to get way worse than they are now.

If you wait for someone else to save you, there's no telling how bad things may get.

It's time to take a stand and save yourself Mike with some self-sacrifice and tough decisions.

Why not dump the beer and get some shuteye?

Hi Mje I am alcoholic and that's why im not drinking tonight

this reminds me of the hell i was in but i didnt see doctors or anyone no sr no nothing when i was drinking

When i was trying to get sober in them 3 months i went to a alcohol day group seen an alcohol street team and started going aa i could not stay sober i understand......

best advice ? sleep it off try again tomorrow

no one has a gun pointed at your head forcing you to drink

if you keep relapsing something isnt right with the way your dealing with your problem/issue/alcoholism

i wanted to be sober i got sober took 3 months

Hi Mike

Im an alcoholic and havent had a drink in 7 days. I stopped and I feel wonderful for it and my body is starting to thank me for it. Librium should help you with your addiction and tomorrow you dont have to drink. You dont have to drink now either, but if you decide to, only sip that thing. Nurse it my man, and I mean nurse it! But it might be a good idea to skip it, have a tall glass of water, and go to bed. Staying up and drinking will hurt you tomorrow morning much more than just drinking some water and calling it a day/night.

Mike
Go for it like your life depends on it.
It does.
The truth, the whole truth and nothing but...
And i think that you will find that 'other' people out there can help us lots to.
Takes courage but you clearly have that in spades.
So good luck and keep us posted.
We ain't going anywheres...
