The meds are there to do a job mate.

That job is to restore the chemical imbalance in your brain.

Your brain is your brain. You can't help that, anymore than I can help being born with blue eyes.

Neither of us had any say in it.

We got what we got.

I have to say I'm none too chuffed that I seem to have been born alcoholic... First time I drank "Boom" that little time bomb inside me exploded.

I can treat my problem by not drinking, you treat yours by taking medicine.

Same but different.

Nice on bruvva, glad you figured it out.

I am so sorry folks, I fell off the crazy wagon last night again, I didn't take my med wasn't tracking well, and got force fed a pill, sorry. I can't remember exactly what I did or what I said , but you people are beautiful and so kind. Apparently I drank, I thought the " revolution" was coming. I don't know why I don't take my pills, but I become nuts when I don't and I am sorry. Please forgive I come from a crazy place and I am so sorry, so sorry you all put up with me, sorry I am a disgrace.

I really hope this convinces you that you need to keep taking the meds Jeremy.

It doesn't make you any less of a person - but I think it helps make you more of a man, husband friend and father

It's all good mate.

We all get crazy sometimes.

How's about a commitment to take the meds every day?

See how that goes

Hi TDG, you're not a disgrace.

Can you set an alarm on some device to help you remember to take your meds?

Last night ended with me telling a medic about the " revolution: a daughter crying and a confused wife, I came off the rails in the worst way and I am embarrassed, please forgive me. I don't know why I think I can not take my medication, but once I don't it shows. Sorry for this folks, so sorry, this man is defeated and dumb please forgive me, I am a different person and delusional and crazy if I don't do what I need to do... Take my mediction

I wish you'd stop calling yourself dumb Jeremy.

We all may from time to time do dumb things...that doesn't make us dumb

Was there a reason that you didn't take the meds? Or did you forget? I've been on and off meds since I was 18 (now 44) and tried to come off a few months ago, quickly realised I needed to be on them and have now accepted that I need those two tiny tablets to help me function. I try to look at it like a diabetic needing insulin. Hope you are feeling more positive now, don't beat yourself up for your slip.

I'm a sucker for slogans/ old sayings.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

You are not dumb, you have experience. The memory of this slip is not something to be ashamed of, it is a piece of information for you to put in your Personal Wellness Toolkit.

There many of us on this forum who didn't take our medication for one reason or another and fell off the rails too. You are not alone. It is an experience to learn from. I learned my lesson and take my medication on a regular basis too. We aren't dumb. We are in recovery. You aren't dumb. You are in recovery too

Jeremy, you wrote a post recently saying how every life has value and then you completely devalue your own! YOU have value!!! You are Not dumb! And you have a lot of people here who care about you!

Have you talked to your DR about your meds? What is is about your meds that makes you want to go off of them? If you don't like the effects of the meds, can your Dr find another one for you?

Dear Jeremy,
You're not weak, or a loser or an embarrassment...you are our friend and we value that and all that you give to us.
I'm glad you took your medicine and are feeling better soon.
Hugs to you!
