AV = Addictive Voice

That sneaky little voice that promises us alcoholic folk that "it will be different this time "

When in fact the historical record would show repeatedly, that it will not be any different.

In AA it is the "insanity " of the first drink. Thinking it will be different this time.

Look up Albert Einsteins definition of insanity.

Two different ways of approaching the same problem.

The approach doesn't really matter.

So long as we find a way to look at the historical record and realise that the first drink is always the opening of the gateway to another and another and another.... Until we either run out of booze or pass out.

I know that feeling after decades of using it to calm me down. I get the feeling of deserving a drink but doesn't your son deserve a sober mother? I am not judging. I still harbor a lot of guilt over what I put my family through and am still working on repairing the damage. I can have the satisfaction of knowing that my grandsons (2&4) will have no bad memories of a drunken grandfather though.
It gets easier with time.

I never had a drink and am very pleased with myself! Didn't have ice cream, but did order a dominos which gave me heart burn all night lol! Better than waking up hungover though. Feeling good today

I bought a hoola hoop, proper one and when I felt like a glass of wine, pick it up and after mastering how to do it I now use until my energy used up. Lost some weight off the middle also. Maybe easier to have some ice cream!
