Day 3 - Made it through


Made it through the weekend.
Made it through a customer Very upset with me (for something that was HIS fault).
Made it through the boredom of not drinking each night.
Made it through by attending the gym when I was craving hard...
Made it through my Alcoholic sinister mind whispering to me.
Made it through eating out hearing "would you like to know our beer specials"?
....Would you like me to smack you...? (haha)
Which brings me to...
Made it through the anger I feel as every REAL emotion surfaces that Ive hid under Alcohol.

Thank you all...you are helping me "Make it through"!!

I certainly understand about the boredom of not drinking. That is a huge problem for me.

Very cool livingnow. I'm only 20 days sober now...So i know how tough those initial days were.

Fight through and you'll be amazed how much better you feel in a matter of weeks. I do know how tough it is.

What have you been actively doing for these first few days to help your recovery? I've found a daily routine that works for me.

I'm actively doing it, and behold i'm 20 days sober.

If i can do it. You can too. Good luck to you my friend.

Congratulations. You are doing fantastic. When you eat out and the server comes to the table, ask for what you want to drink, before they suggest. I am always ready with, "I would like ice water with lemon, please." It goes no further. Just a suggestion. I am glad you are with us.

Congratulations. I'm on 11 now and you do feel better, although I recognize there is a long way to go! Keep strong and keep busy.

Great post and progress through the hard early days when old habits keep wanting to push you around. It will get easier, but don't let your guard down.

This sounds eerily familiar. I'm on day nine and I believe I posted something similar last week. You are doing great! Check in here often. It just started getting better. The emotions sort of calmed down for me. I'm only feeling them when I'm supposed to now instead of all the time. Keep it up!
