Well that wasn't too hard now was it? Grubby celebrates 6 months/180 days clean today
February 17, 2014 was my last day of drinking.
When today comes to a close i will officially have 6 months, or 180 days, clean off of alcohol under my belt
..... and yes, that includes being clean from "non-traditional" or "accidental" alcohol sources such as mouth wash, alcohol "glazed" foods, and so on. I'm hyper-attentive to those "ingredient" labels these days
I've had a handful of dreams involving alcohol in these last few months, but other than that the AV has been quiet........ i hope it stays quiet and just leaves me the hell alone. Just..... just stay in the shadows and leave me be, seriously.....
Thank you all once again for your support and such, reading your stories helps a lot in knowing my experiences were NOT unique at all
...... and a very special thanks to this wonderful thing we call "the internet" for keeping my mind occupied/entertained. I honestly don't think i would have gotten this far without it, probably wouldn't have made it even a month due to the boredom.
Next stop: 1 year/12 month mark

I forgot to add but, this also happens to be my first time out/first go at sobriety.
(no previous relapses etc)
Also, i haven't attended a single AA meeting or anything like that....... i'm just not that interested really, especially being the introvert that i am. Sites like this one are "enough" for me with regards to a support network.
Anyways, i seem to be making it work so far........... one of the things that i find helps is thinking back to those first 2 weeks off alcohol and my brain's violent reaction(s), it was just "hell on earth" and those miserable/utterly-hellish 2 weeks will be forever etched in my memory. I don't think i've ever missed so many consecutive nights of sleep in my LIFE. This stuff is no joke, i realize that now.
