I suspect you would still be drinking if you didn't have any pain. I had many excuses to drink. Usually, I would say I needed it to sleep at night.

Not gonna beat up on you, icandothis- just pointing out that there are better alternatives. Try a different doctor. The "cure" you've prescribed will kill you!

Like others have said alcohols probably making the pain worse in the long run. Arthritis is one of the most easy managed of ailments.

If your current Dr is not cutting the mustard, see a new one. And stop the drinking - it really will help to be sober
