Ah shucks

This is trivial but it bothers me as an alcoholic. My favorite craft beer establishment is opening up very close to my place of employment. On top of that it's next to one of my lunch places I frequent. I really feel bad about this. I have a year of sobriety but now I have to look at this place at least once or twice a day since there are really no way to drive to and from work without having to look at this bldg. Man this is hard. Just needed to get this off my chest. Trivial I know but it's a trigger.

Post on here a lot. Go to meetings if that's something that gives you strength. Think of the craft beer as poison, because that's actually what it is to you.

It may take awhile of biting the bullet, but in time you will become immune to it. That's actually true.

Hey tnman

Try and remember you're a non drinker now...

cast your mind back over your drinking career - really remember what it was like...

then look at the accomplishments and successes of the last year

On the one hand, your happiness and your future...
on the other....some craft beer dive.

No contest, man

Make your sobriety your first priority. Remind yourself of why you quit drinking every time you pass this place.

When I go past the places where I used to get my wine, I get a good feeling that I don't do that anymore. It's positive reinforcement for me.

You know what??? I find that when I acknowledge possible triggers or some "silly" issue that in the grand scheme of things really doesn't matter, the power goes out of it. So, GREAT JOB posting about it. We need you here.

Agreed, I was just disappointed in hearing about this and then it dawned on me that it's alright for them to open up wherever they want to. I'm the one with a problem not them. I'll make it, just needed to vent. Thanks
