This is incredible LBrain. Since I have been here on SR you have very honestly shared your experience both with and without alcohol. Needless to say, when I came here scared out of my wits 3 months ago with a realization similar to yours above but not yet with acceptance, your words were and continue to be incredibly hopeful and full of impact and inspiration. Thanks for sharing your journey so openly - well, at least a "Rated-Dee" version. Hah!. All of it is pretty darn beautiful. Congrats on spending a genuinely gorgeous day in the world, once again!

Thanks everyone. I didn't want to brag about seven months.
but I realized how selfish it would be to not share that things do get better as we get more time.
no matter what you struggle early in sobriety, if you think lif e is no fun without alcohol or you need it to cope with life, it just isn't reality. Li f e gets much better - or your ability to face it.
I still have not worked since December and no income since April. i am starting to really enjoy living again. Future is still a question, but i'm equipped to handle it

Way to go on seven months. Sounds like a great day. Just looked at your photos. Just beautiful. I need to get a kayak. Looks like such fun.

Awesome! I can't imagine a better way to spend a day. I haven't been out camping or hiking yet this summer but I'm gonna get started this week.
