Been there so many times. Would try to cram in drinking between 9 and 1 am so that I could still get 7 hours of sleep before work. By 1, I'd extend that to 2. By 2, I'd extend that to 3. Next day at work I'd be a zombie, half-drunk/hungover and trying to hide in my office. I won't miss that!!!!

great post! man its great to be free of that worry. god...the ways i used to plan. fri, sat.- go for it. sunday-try to limit to medicinal drinks only (about 50% success rate), therefor easing down to a crappy nights sleep, turning over to look at the clock every hour. near the end i knew before the monday shower was done whether or not i needed to dose with the ativan.

DONE with that crap now. what a silly game.

I used to do it like this -

"Okay, it's 8pm now, so I'll stop at 9pm."

Glances at clock later, it reads 9:02pm.

"Hmm, guess I'll just stop at 10pm now."

etc. etc. until I pass out

As if doing something on the hour has any sort of importance or meaning - amazing what our minds come up with to help us procrastinate and rationalize.
