From Pleasure and Pain into Contentment

''So perhaps pleasure, or happiness, is actually the absence of craving, rather than the presence of a particular desired object. Happiness is a state of being content and free from desire.
Conversely, displeasure is a state of wanting something to stop or to go away. We crave its cessation. But if we can just accept it and let that craving go, the our experience of the thing itself is not nearly as bad.''

A helpful and insightful quote from 'Buddhism: Tools for living your life' by Vajragupta.

Helped me change my thinking today.

Thank you, RunnerBean. Sometimes I take lessons from my cat, who seems to spend most of the day enjoying the moment wherever she is.
