Welcome badams.. I'm a double or triple winner of sorts. I might not have the best advice but I'm good at listening if you ever need an ear.

badams, I guess my wife and I are lucky, both my AA group and her Al-Anon group are great! We have both learned so much and are struggling down this road together, a road I doubt I could travel without her by my side. Maybe give it another chance? The Friends and Family thread could also help and support you as well..... remember, you only have to do this alone if you choose to, SR is an amazing place!

Yes, I would give Al Anon another chance...my wife goes and it's really helping her as we both struggle with the disease of alcoholism that I have.

All the best and welcome!

This is unusual in my experience (disclaimer: I am the alcoholic). Alanon typically is for support of the family and loved ones and never caters to the alcoholic.

Please try it again since it has been 10 years. Or try another group.
