A good day =)

For those of you who have regularly read my posts you'll know I was pretty stressed out about the arrival of a criminal record check (long story short I once was drunk and was taken home by a police officer and had no idea if this resulted in a police warning). Well it arrived today all clear.

This might sound small but waiting for this was a huge test of my sobriety, I think anxiety has always been my main trigger for drinking and the possibility of losing a job I have very, very hard for made me extremely anxious.

Now I'm out the other side I can not feel a sense of the drinking demon shrinking as my strength of will grows, but also out onto the horizon the life I've started to carve out for myself since I quit.

I see a lot of people struggling on here with their sobriety, everyone does from time to time, but I think most of us don't realise the beautiful future that's waiting. For a long time sober I felt lost, but I now think that was just the fog of alcoholism clearing so I could see what really lies ahead.

Sentimentality over, I'm off for a cuppa'.

Good going Mr B ,

We all know what a drinking life will give us, i was sick to death of mine . A sober life has horizons i'm unaware of and makes me feel like my life is growing .

Keep on ,

Bestwishes, m
