Post op surgery dialogue with an AV on the loose
AV: Pssssssssst.... Manhattan ?
Me: Huh ?
Av: Manhattan ?
Me: Are you talking to me ?
Av: (making sign language gestures) Do. YOU. WANT. A. MAN. HAT. TAN ?
Me: Oh brother. You again ? What rock did you crawl out from under ?
I don't drink anymore. Remember ?
Av: I'm bored.
Me: So ?
Av: Soooooooooo....I was thinking we could have a few and pass the time.
Me: I never have a "few". I have "all". And when I'm done with that, I have
"'More". And imagine the dry heaves with this 10 inch abdominal incision. Now that
Might equate to the closest thing of hell on earth.
Av: Oh COME ON. You mean to tell me, that after six plus months, you
STILL can't have just a few ? Besides, if you were to have "more" all
You are doing is laying around and convalescing. Big deal if your
hung tomorrow.
Me: Shut up. Youre an ass.
Av: Wine ?
Me: Oh for the love ! Who's going to drive me to the ER if i bust a stitch
or ten from vomiting ? Besides, I was just under general anasthesia for
*5* HOURS, less than two weeks ago.
AV: (laughing and slapping his nonexistent knee) Yeah. And, damn, wasn't that a party ?
Can you say way-sted. Hahaha
Me: So, yeah, no. That was NOT a "party". I don't even enjoy that
Feeling of oblivion anymore.
AV: Bull. I saw you with that pain pump.
Me: Ok. So are you done yet ?
Av: It's a holiday.
Me: (disgusted). Of course, I shoulda known....
Av: You are disappointing me.
Me: That's cool. I just can't disappoint MYSELF any longer.
Av: Well, I see I'm getting nowhere with you tonight.
Me: Naw brah. You almost had me at "manhattan". But I hedged that bet with those Fannie Mae cream eggs.
Av: Ill see you tomorrow.
Me: Id rather not.
(after a few minutes pass)
Av: Psssstttttt........Norco ?
Me: Huh ?

LOL! Yes, that's the AV at its best. I'm so grateful that today we can recognize it and move on. it not longer controls us or our lives.
Well done, my friend, AO. Wello done indeed!

LOL!
Hope you post surgery recovery goes smooth, nicely done with the AV.
Had a similar conversation earlier, steak for dinner and usually a barrel of wine with it. I let the barrel roll by down the street for someone elsr.
