Dinner with co workers

So tonight all of us girls from work went out for dinner. At a sushi place. Where they have the best Chardonnay. I don't really like to eat sushi without the clank of the wine glass. I was scared to death.

I ordered a diet cherry coke. Another girl had water--- she has no idea she was my strength for the night-- everyone else was drinking and one girl was kinda getting snobbish. She was kinda uncomfortable with me not drinking I think.

The two of us who weren't drinking left right after dinner..... The others went to a bar. I luckily had a to go order for my hubby.... Phew.....

So happy I'm home sober.... A little apprehensive about work tomorrow-- funny thing if I was drinking with them, we would have so much to giggle about in the am. But for tonight I'm most likely the outcast, and I'm not gonna lie, it bothers me a bit, but not enough to forgo sobriety, just to fit in.

Thank u god for another sober night

Good for you!! You are definitely living your name. Good for you and the other girl to show that not everyone has to drink alcohol to be sociable.

A work event last Friday was the trigger for my last relapse, so way to stick to your guns!

We try hard to be normal-whatever that is. But I know in my case I'm alcoholic and will never be normal in that area. And it's okay!
You shouldn't feel awkward at work- you should feel great because you don't have the shame and pain of a hangover. If I had a few with co-workers I would really feel awkward at work from that point on because they would have seen me doing who knows what.
