I'm trying, but Im finding it hard to get out of this funk because I have zero faith in myself and I really just expect to keep reaching lows and drinking over it and going through this cycle over and over again.

Great that you are working the steps and have a sponsor. That is the beauty of AA, you don't have to have "faith in yourself." Put you faith in your HP and He'll take care of it for you.
