Day 1
Today I am taking the first steps on the journey to sobriety. Through this forum and the AA program I plan on living a life of clarity and focus without alcohol. My reason for wanting to abstain from alcohol entirely is because there are things I would like to do in my life that would be impossible if I was drinking. Years ago alcohol was my best friend and now it has turned into my worst enemy. I look forward to being active on this site to substitute the time I would spend drinking.

Welcome to SR TJ. You found an excellent place for support & friendship. We all understand what you're going through.
My 'friend' turned on me too - always leaned on it so much to cope - but in the end I was controlled by it. It feels great to be free. You can do it.

Welcome to a great place TJ. I feel the same way; I have goals and aspirations but alcohol was standing in my way. No More! It is time to take our lives back and achieve the best in ourselves. Glad you found SR and AA to get the journey started.
