Unhappy Does Tobacco Addiction Leads to Cancer??

I really want to get all information regarding tobacco addiction. Few members in my family are badly addicted to Tobacco, they chew tobacco very frequently.
more than 8-10 times in a day. But one thing is good in it, he doesn't swallow the tobacco.

Tobacco is necessary for Natural Calls (toilet)
After Breakfast
After Lunch
After evening snacks, dinner, and without any reason.

I did not find it healthy at all.
Please guide me, with all medical terms does it really leads to Cancer??

Hi and welcome

I think even the briefest Goggle search will lead you to many many pages which will link ANY tobacco products to cancer, Martha.

I don't believe tobacco is necessary for the digestion either - my digestion is better now than it was when I was a smoker.

Cool

"According to cigarette packets, smoking tobacco can cause cancer."

Actually, they no longer say this; they do say -----

SURGEON GENERAL'S WARNING: Cigarette Smoke Contains Carbon Monoxide.

Practicing a little rigorous honesty here.

My can of Kodiak says "This product can cause gum disease and tooth loss". Nasty habit, I plan on quitting soon... Again. There's plenty of evidence chewing is bad for you, that said until someone is ready to quit, nothing you can say or present will have an effect.

What Percentage of Smokers Get Lung Cancer

In a 2006 European study, the risk of developing lung cancer was:

0.2% for men who never smoked (0.4% for women)
5.5% for male former smokers (2.6% in women)
15.9% for current male smokers (9.5% for women)
24.4% for male “heavy smokers” defined as smoking more than 5 cigarettes per day (18.5% for women)
An earlier Canadian study quoted the lifetime risk for male smokers at 17.2% (11.6% in women) versus only 1.3% in male non-smokers (1.4% in female non-smokers).

Smokeless Tobacco and Cancer - National Cancer Institute

Are there harmful chemicals in smokeless tobacco?

Yes. There is no safe form of tobacco. At least 28 chemicals in smokeless tobacco have been found to cause cancer (1). The most harmful chemicals in smokeless tobacco are tobacco-specific nitrosamines, which are formed during the growing, curing, fermenting, and aging of tobacco. The level of tobacco-specific nitrosamines varies by product. Scientists have found that the nitrosamine level is directly related to the risk of cancer.

In addition to a variety of nitrosamines, other cancer-causing substances in smokeless tobacco include polonium–210 (a radioactive element found in tobacco fertilizer) and polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (also known as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) (1).

Does smokeless tobacco cause cancer?

Yes. Smokeless tobacco causes oral cancer, esophageal cancer, and pancreatic cancer (1).

Does smokeless tobacco cause other diseases?

Yes. Using smokeless tobacco may also cause heart disease, gum disease, and oral lesions other than cancer, such as leukoplakia (precancerous white patches in the mouth) (1).

Chewing tobacco increases the risk of oral cancer by up to 50 times. So yes, it's a massive risk. But it's never too late to quit.
