2 days sober

I went to a treatment facility yesterday for low income or no income people. They did an assessment and I start my treatment plan February 5th.

Let me mention this treatment program will be not only for substance abuse, but for mental health as well. When I went in for assessment the person I talked to me about my isolating. Seems this could be a coping mechanism I used as a child to hide when my father was abusive drunk.

It took a lot of courage to lay it all on the table in front of a complete stranger. I felt relieved and in trouble at the same time, in talking about my drinking and past drug use. I realize now I can't do this on my own, not with the isolating and lack of coping skills and help with my OCD and depression.

Congrats! It's hard to admit you need to make a change but I think you'll be glad to look the leap of faith.

Admitting you have a problem is a great first step. Best wishes for your recovery, and please stick around on SR for as much support as you can handle.
