Garand, same as Dee, I knew that I was about to drink myself to death. I would drink enough that I would not wake up. It finally scared me.

Hi Garand. I'm so glad you're here.

I too knew my life was coming to an end - and that was my motivation. I was drinking 24/7 when I came to SR, completely miserable but so afraid to let go of it. Reading and posting here was my lifeline - it helped with the anxiety and dread. Not feeling alone anymore made all the difference. It will feel great to be free of it - and we know you can do this.

If I may suggest:
The second part of your first post. Read it out loud to yourself as much as you can.
Honestly believe those words. Memorize them. Live by them every second.
Want it, and it will happen for you.
