sick of being drunk
I just joined and my first post last night and I can honestly say I'm glad I did. 2013 was year full of binges. Some lasting a few days others maybe a week. I've had to go to detox a few times to try to get back to reality. I have a loving wife who's been my rock even in my most drunken of moments. Talking to myself or hallucinating, throwing nothing since I wasn't eating for days. I'm 33 with a great wife and 2 kids. Ive tried numerous times to stay sober, but failed. I don't think I was serious enough about until I started reading from this website.
I just want and need to be sober. I really can't pinpoint any good from being hammered for weeks on end including at work. I've sooo lucky and I'm glad to know there's support out there.

Welcome Getright!
That's how I felt about 10 months ago. I was sick of it. This forum and my March 2013 classmates got me through the tough times and we celebrated the good times together.
My only hope at ever being happy was to stop drinking. Wasn't always easy but it was so worth it.
Good for you! You can do it!

You came to the right place. We are you. We don't pass judgment on your past, are here in your present, because we know you can make a future. If I could rise from my gutter, so can you. We just know that. You might be in the exact right place. Read a lot here. Post a lot too.
