Can't be cool and sober!
For years I did not like drunks but kept being around them and eventually would end up worse than them>**** I have tails of woe as I am sure others have. Happy to be here and celebrating man. I survived a heart attack, lost 100 lbs, gave up land animals and beer, all in Aug 2012. It was not until a really bad wine hangover in the end of May that year that I said ENOUGH!!! I will never look back!
I did not post the video, but it is Daryl Hall's house band he uses for his series, "Daryl's House." Daryl Hall is half of Hall and Oates. I agree, the band is quite good. I was most impressed as to how good Daryl sounds and plays...Whew it is good stuff.
Yteirbos,
I remember the first time I went into a bar after sobering up. About 15 people said to me "where you been?". I told them I needed to quit so I hadn't been in for a while. About half of those people told me how much they admired my decision. One joined me in sobriety and 4 or 5 tried to buy me a drink. (That last group, IMHO, has their own drinking problems).
But support by over half of my drinking buddies? Trust me me a lot of people will think you are cool when you are sober.

Gotta dust this off and bring it out again, since this thread reminds me of it. From a guy at an AA meeting: "Addiction is undefeated, and the only tie is Keith Richards."
There are plenty of dead cool people who died from one of the many things that made them cool.

I feel for you. My brother is a musician (drummer)and at 55 he still drinks and lives the bar gig trip. I am a concert photographer when not doing my day job and learned a few years ago how to shoot in bars/venues with beer that I could not shoot and drink @ the same time. This really helped me to stop. As you know the RnR life style is everywhere and easy to live, harder to stop. Thanks for the shout out.
