Oh Charlie,
I wish I could get out of this gathering. Unfortunately, it's a fundraiser I am hosting that has been sold out for months. All of my clients and my employee's clients would be pretty upset if it was cancelled. But I see what you're saying about parties. There will be so many other parties, get togethers & soirées that will definitely be missed due to made up excuses like "scheduling conflicts", cough due to colds, washing my aunt's hair out of the country, etc...
