Great thread , I had first thoughts of my drinking issue and that I needed to stop at about 38 /9 I did not act and wasted another 7 years . Sober 19 months now in about a week, I feel like I also " get it" and I Also feel like I am turning back the clock because I feel so good.

Thanks.

I am 62. To me all of you sound heartbreakingly young. Please don't be so discouraged! You all have wonderful sober lives ahead of you now that you are seeing how much drinking and drug abuse has taken from you. You can have your life back. Just reach out and take it. You all have lots of wonderful life left. 30? 40? 50? You are so young! Some of the best times I ever had were in my 40 's and 50's. You are young and strong! Strong enough to take your lives back and to live them to the fullest. Please do this for yourselves. It is SO not too late. Not while you're still breathing!

Thank you everyone for the kind and thoughtful words. I'm grateful beyond adequate words to express the way I feel about SR.

You all and this place have been an instrumental part of this leg of my life journey.

Be well.

XO AO

AO - wow, you just killed it! As most everyone said - such a wonderful post. I got chills reading it. I'm 36 and right there with you - the clarity and beauty of sobriety is all.

Seriously, terrific stuff. Thank you so much.
