Still here on day 2.
Feeling a bit blue right now as its that time of day in UK when the drink is calling. Feeling rather depressed and have zero enthusiasm for anything apart from sleeping. Hanging in there though that's the main thing.
Sober since October

Hi, RJ)
Depression, lack of enthusiasm and energy is pretty common in early days. So, you just be easy on yourself, focus on being sober, and hang in here.
Best wishes to you. Keep posting)

For most of us, early sobriety is not all rainbows and unicorns RJ. You are accustomed to "changing your mental state" by pouring a drink. You now have to learn that is no longer an option and instead, find other ways to cope with your head. It is easier to quit resisting that you are going to feel a bit blah or blue or pouty whilst your mind and body adjusts to the myriad of changes it must endure as you return to a normal state of functioning (which may be a far back as your early teens).
We are an impatient and instant gratification sort of folk. Breathe, exhale and try to take some comfort in the fact that you are in the process of breaking the chains of addiction. It gets easier and more and more enlightening, peaceful and yes, sometimes absolutely joyful day by day.

I am day 2 also - I am absolutely terrified of the process of my brain re-wiring itself and learning to be an actual person, but I know that it is better than drinking reality away!
Good luck and keep stringing the days together!

It is wonderful to see so many day two folks here! What a great way to start out a new month! Keep up the great work and know that it does get better - so, so, so much better! The first week is a challenge but with every sober morning you have a major victory. Keep at it!
Also, since many of you started at the beginning of the week, be sure to come around on Friday for the weekenders thread. It helped me a lot!
