Thanks for so candidly sharing your struggle. I hope you can find some comfort from the responses and from your thoughtful reflection. I have been dealing with some issues of regret and self-disappointment lately so your post hits close to home for me. I have just been reading a lot on the topic. I have a ways to go but am starting to see how I may come out of this dark time a better person. More equipped to deal with life on a sober basis and maybe more equipped to help others who may go through something similar.
Not sure what else to do but to "ride out and meet them" and walk through life's adventures as they are presented to me.

I know it's hard, but you need to learn how to forgive yourself. Keep in mind it was NOT you that did all those bad things when you were drinking, but the disease that caused you to do all those things.

my sponsor would call it untreated alcoholism. without alcohol (one solution), we need another solution.
