Sobriety Date Blues
Sobriety Date Blues
I had 15 days of sobriety when I went to a going away party with copious booze. I didn't drink but halfway through the evening I smoked. I was told the next day that I had to start my sobriety count over.
I'm proud that I didn't drink- Under previous circumstances I would have made a bee line to the booze and ended up unnecessarily drunk- but I'm also disappointed, as weed is as much if not more of a vice for me than alcohol.
I am now, for the second time on day 2 of total sobriety. Starting back at zero is NOT a good feeling, and I am trying to remember how ****** it feels without being too hard on myself. Just wanted to share.

You have 15 days of sobriety that no one, not even you, can take away from you.
Concentrate on what kept you going those 15 days. Even though it is important to take a look at what made you use, it doesn't help to dwell on it.
Being too hard on myself makes me feel guilty and that equals pity pot, which is not a good place for me to be.
Hang in there and don't give up.
