I couldn't stand not having feelings on these drugs. They make you indifferent or something. Not happy, or sad. I couldn't stand it. Felt like a zombie or something.

I'm taking citalopram and they 've made a huge difference to me. Initially I felt a bit manic at times but since the third week or so they work well and make a huge difference to my outlook

20mg prozac daily for over 10 years. Have tried weaning off, in a matter of a week I begin to experience intense feelings of dissatisfaction with a great number of things\situations\etc. I may be a lifer on it.

Nothing now! When I was drinking I tried Celexa, Zoloft and Seroquel. I took the Seroquel about 8 months into my sobriety as well and then weaned off...None of them seemed to do much one way or the other...my only substances currently are melatonin and benadryl as needed...

75mg vanlafaxine. And the odd valium or 2 or 3 or...well you get the idea.

20mg of prozac and when I drink while on it I get so wasted beyond belief and sometimes violent

Yeah I'm on 20mg cip after being on lexapro. I'm guessing sober will make them work a **** load better. Has anyone heard that ssri's can induce alcohol cravings?

Yeah I need to stay off alcohol if I want to keep taking ssri's, I get cravings once I start. I was fine when I was pregnant (also on lexapro then) because although I had only one drink, seldomly, I didn't want more than that because I was growing a baby. If I stay off alcohol when I'm on these, they will work better and I won't turn into a raging alcoholic.
